Supreme Mentoring Services Is Established
Supreme Mentoring Services was founded by Taj Reid, beginning with a two-day-per-week mentoring commission at an independent school.
Supreme Mentoring Services is a Birmingham-based specialist mentoring provider supporting young people across mainstream schools, alternative provision, specialist settings and community environments. Our work focuses on building trusted relationships, addressing barriers to engagement and helping young people develop the social and emotional skills needed to make sustainable progress.
Who we are
Supreme Mentoring Services was created from a belief that every young person deserves access to a consistent adult who is prepared to listen, understand and remain present through challenge.
Through direct experience of supporting young people in education and community settings, we recognised that behaviour, disengagement and low confidence often reflect barriers that have not yet been fully understood. Supreme was established to provide the time, consistency and purposeful relationships needed to help young people explore those barriers and begin creating more positive actions.
Today, Supreme Mentoring Services works alongside schools, families and community partners to deliver mentoring and pastoral support shaped around the needs of the individual. Although our work has grown, our approach remains personal: understand the young person, build trust, maintain appropriate boundaries and ensure that every intervention has a clear purpose.
From founder-led delivery to a structured mentoring organisation, each stage of Supreme Mentoring Services' journey has strengthened our ability to provide safe, consistent and purposeful support.
Supreme Mentoring Services was founded by Taj Reid, beginning with a two-day-per-week mentoring commission at an independent school.
Supreme Mentoring Services established a significant education partnership, expanding its delivery within alternative provision and strengthening its specialist SEMH mentoring experience.
Supreme Mentoring Services welcomed its first long-term team mentor in October, beginning the transition from founder-only delivery to a wider mentoring team.
Supreme Mentoring Services was awarded its first formal community-delivery partnership in 2025, with structured community delivery commencing in 2026.
Supreme Mentoring Services has developed a structured, repeatable mentoring approach that enables its standards to be upheld by a wider team without losing the personal quality on which the service was built.
Leadership
Taj Reid founded Supreme Mentoring Services with a clear commitment to providing young people with consistent, relationship-led support that creates meaningful opportunities for reflection, accountability and growth.
His approach has been shaped by direct experience working alongside young people, schools, pastoral teams and families. Taj believes effective mentoring requires both empathy and appropriate challenge: young people should feel heard and understood, while also being supported to recognise their choices, develop practical strategies and take greater ownership of their progress.
As Founder and Lead Mentor, Taj remains closely involved in service delivery, safeguarding leadership, programme development and maintaining the standards expected across Supreme Mentoring Services.
Meaningful change begins when a young person feels understood, but it develops through consistency, accountability and purposeful action.
Purpose
Our mission is to provide safe, consistent and purposeful mentoring that helps young people better understand themselves, overcome barriers and develop the confidence, resilience and decision-making skills needed to move forward.
We work to ensure that mentoring is not simply a conversation, but a purposeful intervention shaped around the young person's needs and focused on meaningful progress.
Our principles
Meaningful progress begins with trust. We take time to understand the young person behind the behaviour.
Young people need adults who remain dependable, maintain appropriate boundaries and follow through on their commitments.
We combine empathy with appropriate challenge, helping young people recognise their choices and take ownership of their next steps.
The safety and welfare of every young person remains central to our decisions, communication and practice.
Our mentoring is shaped by identified needs, clear goals and regular reflection on the difference the intervention is making.
Our people
Supreme Mentoring Services brings together experienced mentors and pastoral professionals who share a commitment to providing safe, consistent and purposeful support for young people.
Our team has experience working across mainstream schools, alternative provision, specialist settings and community environments. Mentors are selected not only for their professional experience, but for their ability to build trust, maintain appropriate boundaries and remain consistent when supporting young people facing complex barriers.
Every person representing Supreme is expected to uphold our safeguarding, conduct, recording, communication and professional-boundary requirements.
Quality assurance
When a school, family or community partner places a young person in our care, that trust carries significant responsibility. Supreme Mentoring Services applies clear professional expectations across recruitment, safeguarding, delivery, communication and quality assurance.
Safeguarding information is shared appropriately and in accordance with relevant responsibilities, procedures and the needs of the young person. Confidential mentoring conversations are not routinely disclosed unless information must be shared to protect the young person or another person from harm.
